Meet Your Instructor

Dr. Catlin R. Tucker is a best-selling author, keynote speaker, international trainer, and professor in the Masters in the Arts of Teaching Program at Pepperdine University. She taught for 16 years in Sonoma County, where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2010.

Catlin has written a series of books on blended learning including, The Complete Guide to Blended Learning, UDL and Blended Learning: Thriving in Flexible Learning Landscapes, Balance With Blended Learning, Blended Learning In Action, Power Up Blended Learning, and Blended Learning In Grades 4-12. In addition to her books on blended learning, Catlin writes an internationally-ranked blog and hosts a podcast called The Balance.

Live practical learning sessions (virtual)

A series of (8) collaborative virtual professional-learning sessions designed to introduce practical blending learning models that teachers can use to deliver equitable learning experiences that honor learner variability.

Practical action items

Each lesson includes a custom “your turn” or action item, where participants are challenged to design custom learning experiences for their students.

  • Emphasize the opportunity for using everyday teacher tasks (like feedback and grading) as opportunities to develop relationships with learners and embrace a partnership model.

    Delivered over three months, the program includes (5) scheduled structured learning conversations and a series of optional scheduled small-group “office hours” style workshops, where participants can ask questions, collaborate and share ideas.

    The Art of Blended Learning for Student Success is an (8)-session (90 minutes each) collaborative professional-learning experience for administrators, instructional coaches and teachers. Participants will emerge with practical and proven strategies to integrate key principles of blended learning instructional design into the K-12 classroom.
